Fanconi syndrome is a DNA test for Hereditary diseases. Fanconi syndrome is a defect of proximal renal tubules affecting the resorption of glucose, amino acids, bicarbonate and other substances filtered by the glomeruli. Symptoms include excessive drinking (polydipsia), excessive urination (polyuria), and glucose in the urine (glucosuria.) If Fanconi syndrome is left untreated, muscle wasting, acidosis, and poor condition will occur and dog can die from the disorder.
