Coat colour dilution and neurological defects (CDN) are a group of rare genetic diseases resembling human Griscelli Syndrome Type 1. The disease has been investigated miniature dachshund. Affected dogs show a dilute red colour, which is much lighter than the standard red colour of non-affected dogs.  Affected puppies can’t keep their bodies in a normal position, can’t maintain an upright head position and keep falling on their side.
